The Spirit Keeper Garners a Great Review

Melissa Luznicky Garrett's new YA paranormal novel, The Spirit Keeper, has received an excellent review from A Reader Reviews!

For those who don't know, the Spirit Keeper is about a teen girl named Sarah whose family has kept the truth of their Native American heritage secret her entire life, refusing to acknowledge where they came from. But when a family that has direct ties to their past moves to town, Sarah’s true identity is revealed.

Here is a taste of the review:

"Garrett nicely captures the emotions and thought process of a teenage girl, who is, at turns, resolute in the face of bullying by classmates, grateful to her aunt and uncle for their care, and both impulsive and careful as she falls in love for the first time." ~Michelle of A Reader Reviews

It is a behind the scenes story the comes between her debut full-length novel, Lacrimosa, and it's sequel Libera Me (due out this fall). Here is a bit about it (SPOILER warning! If you haven't read Lacrimosa yet, this blurb contains spoilers):

Everything has a price; and the cost of Nesy’s life may be higher than anyone expected.

Nesy’s wounds should have been fatal. Fortunately, Mikayel knew something the rest of the Council didn’t—how to counteract Azza’s attack. But it’s Zane that must carry out the task. Will he have the strength to confront something even more frightening than Azza to save Nesy? And will he be able to shoulder the cost?

Welcome New Member Dawn Dalton

We're excited to welcome our newest member, Dawn Dalton. She started writing at the age of 8 upon discovering writing about monsters was way less scary than looking for them under her bed. She's still leery of things that go bump in the night, but thinks her storytelling skills have improved. Dawn lives in Canada with her husband, stepdaughter and three bullmastiffs. You know, just skulking around.

Her haunting story, THREAD OF THE PAST, is included in the Spirited anthology published by Leap Books (2011).

THREAD OF THE PAST – By Dawn Dalton

Letitia Hawke is used to feeling invisible and the only thing that makes her senior dance bearable is the location – one of the most haunted houses in the country. The Tish makes an unexpected connection with Elijah and it’s bye-bye wallflower, hello gothic rose. Too bad the Franklin House is a jealous host.

Dawn also writes adult thriller and paranormal fiction under the last name IUS. For more information, please visit her blog.

Cyndi Tefft

Cyndi lives with her family in the Pacific Northwest where the weather is overcast and rainy, much like the Highlands of Scotland. So she was right at home when she got the chance to visit Eilean Donan Castle in May 2010. A self-proclaimed Scot freak, she loved every bit about the trip to Scotland: the people, the kilts, the accents, the fish & chips, the haggis...well okay, not the haggis.

Here is a bit about her novel Between:

It just figures that the love of Lindsey Water's life isn't alive at all, but the grim reaper, complete with a dimpled smile and Scottish accent.

After transporting souls to heaven for the last 300 years, Aiden MacRae has all but given up on finding the one whose love will redeem him and allow him entry through the pearly gates.

Torn between her growing attraction to Aiden and heaven's siren song, Lindsey must learn the hard way whether love really can transcend all boundaries.

Cyndi is collecting pictures of fans with their copies of Between to create a fan gallery on her blog so be sure to stop by! Click here to learn more about Cyndi and her novels.

Stellar Review of Christine Fonseca's Lacrimosa

Congratulations to Christine Fonseca on a stellar review for her debut novel, Lacrimosa. It's from Tiffany of Escaping One Book at a Time. Here is just a taste of it:

"Okay I seriously hate to start a review like this but OMG!!! Seriously this book blew me away!! I was amazed at the amount of emotion there was and yet it didn't take away from the story. I am still (4 days later) having issues getting past just writing sentence after sentence of wow! I went into this book with fairly high expectations. That is not typical of me at all but high expectations and all this book blew me out of the water. Yes, you have your Angels that are here to vanquish the evil, and yes evil is HOT but nothing will prepare you for the ride that you will go one in this book. The is so much love, pain and action that you wont want to stop." ~Tiffanny M

She is a Class of 2K10 member (fabulous authors who debuted in 2010). You can find Kitty on Twitter and Facebook. Her debut novel, FREAKSVILLE, is published with Leap Books. Every woman in the Maxwell family has the gift of sight. A talent sixteen-year-old Kasey would gladly give up. All she wants is a normal life. Shopping and talking about boys with her best friend and long-time sidekick, Gillie Godshall, consume her days. Until Kasey has a vision about Josh Johnstone, the foreign exchange student from England. The vision leads her into new realms, a lead in a play, a haunted theater ... and into the arms of Josh. Yet, both Kasey and Josh have secrets lurking in dark corners. Can Kasey’s new romance survive FREAKSVILLE?
